Casper edges Hastings in ILB Action

Casper used an eight run second inning for an 8-7 win over Hastings on Saturday. The Spuds had six straight players reach with two outs to make the most of their chances as they sent 13 to the plate.
The Sodbusters had gotten off to a 3-0 lead after one. Hastings continued to battle, scoring three runs in the third and one in the fourth. The Sodbusters had the tying or go ahead runs on in the last seven innings, but could never catch the Spuds.
Elijah Thomas worked 4.1 innings of scoreless relief to allow the Sodbusters to rally. Brock Cross contributed a scoreless ninth.
Jackson Crain doubled twice as part of a 3-5 day. He knocked in one and scored twice. Luke Caussey was 3-5 with two runs scored. Weston Johnston and Cross each had two hits.
The same two teams meet Sunday evening at 6:35 at Duncan Field.
