Carnival wristbands, new attractions at the 2025 Nebraska State Fair

Nebraska State Fair

With new rides, returning favorites, and the unbeatable view from the Sky Tram, the 2025 Nebraska State Fair carnival is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling yet. Powered by longtime partner Wade Shows, the carnival offers something for everyone — and thanks to discounted wristbands, you can enjoy unlimited rides for just $30.

Wristbands are available now at StateFair.org and the Nebraska State Fair Box Office through August 21 or while supplies last. Each wristband offers unlimited rides for one person on any one day of the Fair, including weekends, and includes access to the Sky Tram. Wristbands are valued at $42 during the Fair, so buying early offers real savings.

“This year’s carnival layout is similar to 2024 — longer and more spread out than in the past — but it hasn’t been significantly impacted by the new Grand Island Casino,” said Courtney Glock, Nebraska State Fair Marketing Director. “Widening the footprint in 2024 allowed us to bring in four additional rides including new ones like the Happy Swing, the Sizzler-like Spider, and the Starship 4000.”

The Fair has also brought back its popular Bobbie’s Bargain Book, packed with deals across the grounds — including two carnival coupons for extra ride savings. But it’s not just about the rides.

“We know one of the places where families tend to gather is in the carnival area — with kids spinning on rides, dads winning a prize at a game booth, or everyone splitting a funnel cake,” Glock added. “It’s a place to showcase your fair face while making some core memories.”

Perhaps the most scenic ride of all is the Sky Tram, now included with your wristband. “I personally love the Sky Tram at night,” Glock said. “You get a bird’s-eye view of the barns and buildings, and as the sun sets, you really feel the magic of the Fair. It’s a peaceful way to take in the sights and sounds from above.”

This year, the Sky Tram will open at 11 a.m. on weekdays. This will allow Nebraska’s Largest Classroom kids and families coming during the week to still get to partake in this staple attraction. Tickets for a one-way or roundtrip ride can be purchased at the Sky Tram ticket booth, by Pinnacle Bank Expo Center.
