Lincoln – Nebraska will open Big Ten Conference play at home for the first time in Coach Fred Hoiberg’s seven seasons, as the conference released its 2025-26 schedule Thursday afternoon.

The 20-game gauntlet begins with two December clashes against NCAA Tournament foes, as Nebraska opens Big Ten play against Wisconsin on Wednesday, Dec. 10, marking the first time since 2018 that the Huskers have opened conference action at home. That weekend, the Huskers will travel to Illinois on Saturday, Dec. 13, in the first of two matchups between the Huskers and Illini this season.

January opens with one of the biggest home games of the season as defending regular-season champion Michigan State makes its first visit to PBA since 2023 on Friday, Jan. 2. The matchup with the Spartans is one of three home games during the month, as Oregon (Jan. 13) and Washington (Jan. 21) make their first appearance in PBA as Big Ten members.  The Huskers will spend a good portion of the month on the road with a pair of back-to-back road games. NU travels to Ohio State (Jan. 5) and Indiana (Jan. 10) early in the month and closes January with trips to Minnesota (Jan. 24) and Michigan (Jan. 27). The Huskers will also face Northwestern (Jan. 17) on the road during the month, as five of NU’s eight games in January are away from home.

The schedule switches in February, when Nebraska begins the month by playing five of its first seven games at home. The stretch features a trio of weekend home games against Illinois (Feb. 1), Northwestern (Feb. 14) and Penn State (Feb. 21) as well as a matchup with Big Ten preseason favorite Purdue (Feb. 10) and Sweet 16 qualifier Maryland (Feb. 25). NU travels to Rutgers (Feb. 7) and Iowa (Feb. 17), marking the first of two matchups with the Hawkeyes in the final six Big Ten contests. The Huskers close February with its two-game West Coast swing, as NU faces USC (Feb. 28) and UCLA (March 3) before hosting Iowa in the regular-season finale on March 8.

The 29th Big Ten Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament will be played March 10-15, 2026, at the United Center in Chicago, marking the first Big Ten Tournament to feature an 18-team field. The tournament will open on Tuesday, March 10, with a pair of games featuring the number 15-18 seeds. Wednesday’s schedule will include four contests, as Tuesday’s winners will join seeds 9-14 in second round action.

Seeds 5-8 will begin tournament play on Thursday, with the top four seeds slated to open their postseasons in Friday’s quarterfinal round. The semifinal contests are scheduled for Saturday, with a champion crowned following Sunday’s title game. CBS Sports will broadcast the semifinals and championship game on CBS for the 29th consecutive year, with those games also streaming live on Paramount+.

Start times and network designations for all Big Ten and non-conference games are expected to be announced later this month. While the season ticket deadline has passed, mini plans and single-game ticket info will be announced in the coming days.
