December 2, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.)  — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested one person after a pursuit that followed a domestic disturbance in Lancaster County.

Just before 11:00 p.m. Saturday, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office notified NSP that a suspect had fled a reported assault. The suspected was believed to be driving a Ford F-150.

A few minutes later, a trooper located the vehicle as it was driving westbound without lights on Highway 6 near Greenwood. The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield and fled with speeds over 100 miles per hour. The NSP AirWing was overhead and took over the pursuit from the air. The trooper did not pursue on the ground.

NSP pilots tracked the suspect as it proceeded north of Lincoln on county roads. Another trooper was able to successfully deploy stop sticks as the suspect drove southbound on 14th Street near Raymond Road. The suspect continued at slow speeds, still refusing to stop. A trooper then performed a tactical vehicle intervention to bring the vehicle to a stop. The suspect was then taken into custody without further incident. Troopers located a handgun and ammunition inside the vehicle.

The driver, Mikhail Bondarchuk, 45, of Lincoln, was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, and possession of a deadly weapon while committing a felony. He was lodged in Lancaster County Jail.

The reported assault is being investigated by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
